The term ‘elements’ indicates the basic components of the physical world and the principles that oversee the functioning of the cosmos, but also the symbols of orientation in space and time with their related correspondences: cardinal points, palette of colours, ages of man, seasons, temperaments, and so on. This series is based on symbolic forms of Theosophy, actually conceived as five in number, which identify: in the yellow square, Earth; in the silver crescent of the moon, air; in the red upturned triangle, fire; in the sky-blue disk, water; in the violet oval, ether.
